PRAS

PRAS, Paradise Rubber Athletic Shoes, is a Japanese sneaker line, offering minimalist classic styles made of natural rubber and high grade cotton canvas. Founded in 2015 and designed by Tanushi Tomoki, creator of Japan's Anachronorm, PRAS embraces vintage styling and highlights the subtle beauty of their natural textures and simple shapes.

Dedicated to heritage and quality, these made-in-Japan sneakers uphold a traditional method of vulcanized rubber sole construction. This construction style fuses the soles to the uppers with heated rubber components, curing the rubber directly onto the shoe, rather than using the cheaper cemented construction method. These sneakers are manufactured in the same way as those produced for war-time navy sailors. The vulcanized sole gave them extra propulsion on the slippery platforms of the ships, allowing for versatile movements in any weather condition. With only two factories left in all of Japan still able to produce fully vulcanized soles (including the rand and foxing tape) PRAS are special to say the least.

The PRAS factory, which is nearly 150 years old, continues to protect this traditional way of producing quality footwear to share with the rest of the world. Modern sneakerheads and fashion lovers will appreciate the lasting durability of this construction.
