There are two types of weather in Scotland: "it's going to rain" and "it's raining", so Scotland seems the appropriate home for the world's most famous wellington boot. Founded in Edinburgh in 1856 by Henry Lee Norris, and originally known as the North British Rubber Co., Hunter began making a variety of innovative and durable rubber products. Their waterproof boots were a quick success, shoeing farmers, soldiers and gardeners alike. In the century and a half since their founding, a few things at Hunter have not changed: the care, the craftsmanship and the refusal to compromise on the quality of their hand-crafted rubber boots.
